Great news! Suddenlink has obtained the necessary approvals to extend fiber optic cable into the communities of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. The fiber optic cable will provide them with the ability to finally extend high-speed Internet services, voice and advance video services into these communities.
The Forest Service has approved Suddenlink’s proposal of crossing the Truckee River, allowing fiber to be brought to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. Suddenlink is working with an Engineering firm to assure they adhere to all environmental construction methods and permitting throughout this process. Suddenlink hopes to get a tentative date of construction once the Forest Service application and all other permits and easements are approved in the next month or so.
